In 2021, we were honoured with a Great Place to Work certification. The Great Place to Work certification recognises employers who create an outstanding employee experience. They anonymously surveyed our team about their work experience, and the Great Place to Work program assessed our workforce privately.

B Corporations certifications are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose and create a more sustainable and inclusive economy.

Our Scholarship Program
Community is central to our mission, and our community extends beyond our doors. We offer scholarships for memberships to The Commons with plans to expand our reach.
The Commons is proud to sponsor great NFP and Social Enterprises across Sydney and Melbourne. Some of our current scholarship members include The Global Women's Project, Mi Vote, One Plate, Kua and Co Ground.Since its inception, The Commons Scholarship Program has contributed over $1,000,000 to organisations committed to changing the world with plans to grow the program further.

The Creative Co-Operative is Australia's first startup agency that is 100% owned, led and operated by (migrant) Women of Colour focused on lifting the economic and social access barriers faced by WoC.
The Global Women’s Project
The Global Women’s Project supports women in Nepal and Cambodia to access the skills and resources they need to determine and improve their own lives.
OnePlate
OnePlate is an Australian charity which unites restaurants, cafés, pubs, bars with socially-conscious customers under the common goal of supporting people in developing countries.
Co Ground
Co Ground creates events, social enterprise and volunteer opportunities that support and fund education and livelihood programs in the Asia-Pacific.

Environmentally
Conscious
In 2019, we prioritised our environmental impact and invested in renewable energy to help offset our energy-related carbon emissions. In addition, we give our members easy options to make sustainable decisions in their daily lives by providing educational content, reusable containers, encouraging alternative modes of transportation, and keeping recycling bins accessible in all our spaces.
Our Suppliers
We support local businesses in our supply chain who seek to leave this earth better than they found it, allowing members access to a wide range of sustainable resources across all our locations.
We partner with members Kua for our ethical coffee supply and coffee-ground recycling, Who Gives a Crap for our toilet paper, and ROCC Naturals for our oral care.
Additionally, we offer Love Tea, Pixii feminine products, Doyle Bros waste collection and recycling and Close The Loop printer cartridge and toner recycling in our locations.
